The world’s leading cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, recently celebrated its 5th anniversary, and as part of the celebration, it distributed rewards to some of the best and most technologically advanced projects out there. The exchange recently revealed the winners, noting that metaverse project The Sandbox won the exchange’s Launchpad Project of the Year award.
Binance also mentioned that The Sandbox has proven to be a community of creators, builders, artists, and LAND owners who are building the future of Web3, thus acknowledging both the project and its community.

The winners of Binance’s 5YA
As mentioned, this was Binance’s fifth-anniversary celebration, and in a blog post announcing the winners, the exchange noted that every year of Binance presents another opportunity to celebrate its community’s shared success. The exchange appreciates everyone, from those holding the status of Angels to Influencers, BNB Chain Innovators, and more, there are many amazing people who have done impressive work over the years.
The exchange also noted that the competition was fierce but also that it was very impressed with the high caliber of all entrants and their contributions.
When it comes to its innovation awards winners, The Sandbox stood out and received the Launchpad Project of the Year 2022 award. However, it was not the only one that the exchange honored. It also rewarded a project called Tranchess with the BNB Project of the Year 2022 award, Project Galaxy with Launchpool Project of the Year 2022 award, and StarSharks TBC with the NFT Project of the Year 2022 award.
These are the four winners that the exchange platform selected, noting that all projects that launched between July 2021 and July 2022 were nominated automatically for the Launchpad Innovation and Launchpool Innovation awards.
Meanwhile, the selection criteria for winning these awards was based on the projects’ market influence for Launchpad projects, business metrics, token value for Launchpool projects, and integration level with Binance’s ecosystem, including BNB, BUSD, and deploying on BNB Chain, which included both of the mentioned categories.
The Sandbox’s growing potential
The Sandbox stood out as the Launchpad Project of the Year, and as one of the biggest metaverse projects out there, this did not come as a surprise for the community.
The Sandbox is quite unique among metaverse projects, as it doesn’t offer a single game like so many others. Instead, it offers numerous easy-to-use development tools that allow users to build their own games and present them to others. With The Sandbox, anyone can create their own game, allow other users to play it, and even earn while playing it, thanks to the P2E model.
The project even organized a contest recently, allowing community members to develop their own unique games and compete for valuable rewards. It is safe to say that The Sandbox is a young project, still in its early days, but it is already one of the leading projects in the metaverse sector, which is why so many people have high expectations for its future.
