Doo Prime,
a forex and contracts for difference (CFD) brokerage under the Singapore-headquartered Doo Group, has hired Marilena Iakovou, the former Group Chief Marketing
Officer (CMO) at M4Markets, as its new CMO. Iakovou joins the Mauritius and
Vanuatu-regulated broker after three years at M4Markets.
Doo Prime
Taps Two M4Markets Execs
Apart from
Iakovou, Doo Prime hired Mariliza Karrera, who was promoted to lead M4M’s marketing team last year, as its new Head of
Marketing. However, the LinkedIn profiles of both executives show that they started
the role earlier in July.
Iakovou and
Kerrera both joined M4Markets at around the same time in 2020 and previously worked
at Tickmill, a London-based forex and CFDs broker. However, while Iakovou
served Tickmill for over three years as the Group CMO, Karrera only worked at the
brokerage for around two and a half years, first serving as a Marketing Officer and later as a Marketing
Executive.
Iakovou
brings nearly two decades of marketing, public relations and sales experience
to the new role at Doo Prime. Before joining Tickmill in August 2017, she
served as the Head of Marketing at Vipro Markets Limited. Between 2012 and
2016, she worked for forex brokers Orbex and IronFX Global as a Marketing
Supervisor.
Outside of
the forex industry, she worked in PR and marketing roles for a few Greek companies: Zegetron, an IT and video games product distributor, and Interamerican, an
insurance firm. The executive had one of her earliest roles as a Marketing
Officer at the National Bank of Greece.
On the
other hand, Karrera joined the trading industry in 2017 as a content writer at PrimeXM, a financial technology provider that operates offices in Dubai,
Limassol and Shanghai. She brings about six years of industry-relevant
experience to her new role.
A Brand under Doo
Group
DOO Prime
is one of the brands under the Doo Group which provides trading brokerage and
asset management services for thousands of financial products, including forex
and CFDs, to global individual and institutional clients. As a trading
platform provider, Doo Prime operates across several jurisdictions, including
in Hong Kong, the United States, Singapore and Malaysia.
Meanwhile,
the addition of Iakovou and Karrera comes at a good time for the Doo Group,
which put up a solid performance during the first half of this year. The group’s
brokerage platforms expanded their trading volume 39.4% to $452.3 billion, Finance
Magnates reported.
Additionally,
Doo Group at the start of the year inked a multi-year
sponsorship deal with the English football club, Manchester United FC. As part of the
arrangement, the club promotes Doo Group and its two sub-brands, Doo Prime and
Doo Financial.
