Roland-Garros is debuting NFTs for its ongoing edition of the tournament
The French Open, Roland-Garros, has announced plans to debut NFTs for its ongoing 2022 edition running from May 16 to June 5. ‘RG Game, Seat & Match’ NFTs are minted on the Polygon blockchain and would mark the tournament’s initial entry into the world of non-fungible tokens.
The NFTs would be made available alongside the May 22 inauguration of the virtual Philippe-Chatrier court. They would compose a 5,000 token collection representing virtual numbered seats on the lower stand of the virtual 3D representation of the court. Willing buyers would be able to customize their tokens’ traits, including frame, number, background, and seat design.
Further, holders of the NFTs would be joining a new community lush with exclusive benefits and perks. For instance, seat numbers could win one of the 55 match balls played on Center Court via a preset combination of stats. There’ll also be animations to win experiences, such as VIP tickets to next year’s edition of the premier clay court tennis championship.
Petaverse is launching cute virtual NFT cats on Polygon
Elsewhere, the Petaverse network has revealed plans to launch virtual cat NFTs on Polygon in its first blockchain collaboration. Petaverse aims to define standards for digital pets in the metaverse by combining XR, gaming, and Web3.
The NFTs would launch with utility via the PhotoBooth applications, in addition to experiences in other platforms. Petaverse intends to have support for more pet varieties in the long run. With the objective of becoming a cross-chain platform for digital pets, it will outgrow Polygon at some point.
Nonetheless, Polygon was still selected as the project’s first blockchain partnership due to low transaction fees, a focus on decentralization, and solutions to enable creation of user-friendly applications.
Actress Sunny Leone partners with Polygon Studios for an NFT venture
Canadian-American actress and model Sunny Leone has disclosed that she is foraying into the Web3 space by announcing the ‘I Dream of Sunny’ fan verse in collaboration with the online platform HeyHey! The project, launched to celebrate Sunny Leone’s 41st birthday, would integrate gaming, artificial intelligence, NFTs, winning combinations, and many other such offerings that would all be bundled into one and minted on Polygon.
The ‘I Dream of Sunny’ gamification would be centered on the actress, with users seeking an experience in her world engaging in activities to gain rewards. First, they would require one of four NFT cards – Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Joker. These would grant them access to the actress’ private discord server and a chance to play the game.
Among the rewards includes live shout-outs, an opportunity to hold a zoom meeting with the actress, join her skydiving in Dubai or share a cup of coffee with her.
