When it comes to crypto prices, 2022 is not off to a particularly great start. Most coins have seen a major price loss over the past several weeks, with even Bitcoin crashing down to $35k. Altcoins, such as Basic Attention Token (BAT) could only follow its lead and wait for the market to turn once again, as it always does.
In fact, it appears that the turning point has finally been reached, as BAT rose by 10% in the last 24 hours, reaching $0.75, where it seems to have stabilized for the time being.
BAT price performance in 2021
It is worth noting that, despite its massive drop — BAT is still significantly higher than it was a year ago. Last year in January, the coin was at $0.20 on January 1st, although it started climbing pretty soon after that. By mid-February, the coin hit a resistance at $0.6, which managed to hold by the end of the month. In fact, around February 21st, the price was even rejected down to $0.5, from where BAT surged once again, this time breaking the $0.6 level, rushing over to $0.8.
This level ended up being another strong resistance that BAT hit in early March, but it also fell before the rally in about two weeks, allowing BAT to skyrocket to $1.2 by March 17th, and when to $1.5 around April 9th. After that, the coin corrected to $1 some two weeks later, only to recover to $1.4 by May 7th.
Of course, that’s when the mid-May price crash came, forcing BAT to crash, initially to $0.6, and then as the summer progressed, to go even further down to $0.46. Fortunately, it reached this level on July 20th, which was the day when the entire crypto industry rallied again, and BAT was no exception. While its recovery was slower this time, it did grow back to $1. However, it took a month and a half to reach this level, finally making it there on September 5th.

The coin then corrected, first to $0.8, and then to $0.6, and it wasn’t until late October/early November that it rallied again. This time, it skyrocketed to $1.2, corrected to $1, and reached $1.2 again. This level was tough to breach, and BAT only managed to go beyond it around November 25th, in a rapid surge that took it to its all-time high at $1.76.
Following that, the coin corrected to its largest support at $1, and after a series of strong fluctuations which even took it to $1.4 at some point, it finished the year with a price of $1.3.
BAT crashes in 2022
BAT spent a better part of the first week of 2022 at $1.3, but around January 5th, its price started to drop. By January 11th, the coin dropped to a support at $1, from which it bounced back up to $1.1. Over the next week, it was slowly returning from $1.1 towards $1, only to drop below this level and start treating it as a new resistance.

The coin then spent several days trying to breach it, but on January 20th, the bearish market forced it to drop to $0.70. BAT immediately recovered to $0.75, only to crash to $0.66 yesterday, January 24th. Finally, after reaching this new YTD low, the coin recovered by 10.13%, once again reaching $0.75, which is where it sits right now.
